Growing a Career as ORDE Grew
I was ORDE’s first ever Credit Analyst, joining the company is August 2019 when we were still a handful of employees. Back then, the business was in full start-up mode and I had the opportunity to work closely with out founders to establish the business. I was heavily involved in planning, testing and developing our origination platform, and experienced many of ORDE’s firsts – our first application, broker call, customer interview, formal loan approval, settlement. The specifics are now a distant memory but what remains is the feeling: the incredible satisfaction to be doing things the ORDE way.
Since then, I’ve had a few different roles, and I’ve recently moved into our Client Services Division as a Senior Operations Manager. I am an inquisitive person by nature, so I often ask questions to gain a broader understanding of the business, seek challenges and put my hand up to contribute to projects outside of my standard role.
I’ve been lucky to have leaders who trust and support me, and who believe in my ability to make a positive impact for our team, partners, and customers. Our founders and leaders really see our people as ORDE’s greatest asset, and they do everything they can to help us do well, grow and excel.
From Fresh Grad to Celebrated Analyst
I joined ORDE's first grad program straight out of uni, after arriving in Melbourne in 2018 and completing two degrees at Monash University. It was a great experience from the start, with an interview phase that was very professional and efficient, and moved forward quickly.
I expected the working world to be intimidating, serious and intense. However, everyone was so welcoming and supportive! Everything is brand new to me and I had to quickly adapt, but the onboarding process was well-structured to ensure that we got to connect with as many colleagues as possible from day one.
What I appreciate most about ORDE is that we get recognised for doing exceptional work. One of my best memories is when I received shoutouts from brokers for my service and won the Monthly Recognition award at the April company meet-up!
I see so much potential in ORDE's grad program. It's helped me to get my foot in the door of credit, expand my knowledge outside of books and connect with people. I also love that we are open to change and improvement all the time at ORDE. My goal now to challenge myself with more complex deals and put myself out there for any opportunity that arises.
Saying Yes to New Roles and Regions
I started out in ORDE’s Credit Operations team in Melbourne, with the goal of becoming a Credit Analyst and then a Credit Manager. At the time, I didn’t even know what a BDM was – I just wanted to learn as much as I could.
I then had the opportunity to move back home to the Gold Coast, joining our Distribution team, first as a Relationship Manager and now as a BDM. It’s been a big change, but I’ve felt so supported by the entire ORDE team, especially my State Sales Manager and the Credit team who taught me the skills I needed.
I’ve always loved trying new things, which has helped me make these moves. I still remember how nervous I was at my first PD Day and hosting my first national webinar. But both experiences confirmed that being a BDM was the right path for me, and I'm grateful to ORDE for backing me and giving me the opportunities.
My best moments at ORDE are when I’ve been able to make a difference to deals that are getting a bad run. It's so rewarding to help brokers find solutions to out-of-the-box transactions, and I love that finding ways to say yes is such a big part of who we are at ORDE.
This is more than a slogan; it's a driving force for RizeUp Australia Chief Executive and Founder Nicolle Edwards.
ORDE proudly supports RizeUP, a national organisation working to support families impacted by domestic and family violence, as part of our broader commitment to making an impact beyond lending.
